I think I must have been in the crafting wilderness until I found Tilda and Promarkers.  My earlier colouring was with various mediums, in particular shimmer type paints, more forgiving than water colour.  Newer Sony digi camera \ day light

I know, don't I wish I had an alphabet die set,  seldom used because they really are too big for anything under an A5 (A4 folded) card and even then it would be difficult to squeeze in a five letter word.  Newer Sony digi camera\day light

Daisy is my favourite of the digi-stamp set,  probably again a bit like SugarNellie ''Molly''  Just a hint if you are thinking about buying the Spellbinders Butterflies, it's very difficult to get out of the die - lots of pokey holes, but difficult & you might be restricted to the type of card & paper you could use.  As a butterfly person it was a must have, but on reflection I probably would have preferred the 'hearts'

I suppose I really only do simple,   first a slight improvement with the newer Sony Digi camera.  These cards were created making a very simple background in two colourways, hence the two cards.  I've a brayer, but not the colour combinations of inkpads to achieve sky-ways.  Anyhows, I do like to mix and match.   I purchased this stamp after Christmas and seemed just the opportunity to use.

How very depressing this has turned out, not only did my PSP & inkjet throw up some dull miserable colours, so has my photography... done flat, I thought I'd give that a try to avoid shadows, the background cloth is actually WHITE!   really white & cotton.  Avoided the scanner on this occasion since the flower centres are pink glitter

To demonstrate the contrast between anticipation and reality :(,  this is what the images looked like in PSP, the card is somewhere between the two

The  background is created by taking a varigated fill tool, bottom to top: i.e. green to blue, then adding a small flower which has been tiled - this allows for it to be repeated.  The background then applied to the image and to create the bottom box, as seen on the card.

I have attemped pyramid cards by printing off X number of exact same images.  But doing this with a stamped image presents it's own problem,  sure someone has worked it out before me, but this is how I did it.  I stamped up my layers, cutting the smallest\TOP first, then placing it on top of the next exactly, then cut that one bigger and so on.

Insert from paper I made yesterday :  Paint Shop Pro
Marianne diecut  :  LR0115
Stash  :  a hint of bling
Submitted to PCW 192 Paper Pretties Add texture to your card

I don't usual make inserts as I go along but as this is obviously a Birthday Card,  I used the grey dot paper from yesterdays Paintshop Pro to contrast the plain white of the front,  hence the way I've tried to photograph it.  It does spring to mind whether a similar wedding embossing folder or folders exist, would be great for wedding stationery.  On a word of note this is an A6 (folded) card, the butterfly is large and not that easy to find use.

Challenge

Easy, lazy but know how and where, I suppose

A simple card  :   Cryogen*
Inkjet, created from microsoft clipart
Craft concepts Embossing Folder  :  Flutterby
Submitted to PanPastel UK Challenge 4 Happy Birthday

Microsoft provide and easily accessible clipart,  which can be searched according to type or colour.  The one below I saved on a previous looksee,  doesn't seem to be available now,  so if you wish to save it,  right click the image, select ''save as'' then download to your computer.  I usually put everything in a folder on desktop then file it later.  The above image has been scanned, but the rendering has made it a lot darker than the original graphic, but having said this, it's also the effect of the *Cryogen card to mute the colours, but worth the sparkle finish.

I can't find to hand at the moment the Microsoft clipart copyright policy, but it's basically based on an individual not claiming it to be theirs or to use it for commerical purposes.  When I come across it, I'll
post the link.

Just a general note, I don't usually make my inserts as I go along.  I make them according to the person I send them to, so the insides are personalised.  Occasionally I make up boxed sets of cards and the inserts will be in 'general terms' but the senders address is printed on the left inside.  A simple card like this, would normally have the image repeated on the inside,  so the theme is carried through the whole card.

I really did enjoy this one,  really shows Tilda's at their best,  less is more!  I have been trying various cardstock to stamp on.  I do have my favourite which is Cryogen (sparkle on both sides), but I really have to rave about the Neenah these are two complete opposites Cryogen you can't work layers of Promarkers to give depth to colour,  but you certainly get a different experience with Neenah over any of your basic white cardstock. I have acquired Copic card on my last purchase at srstampalot, yet to try.

Digi images

Cuddly Buddly  :  Digi  BS-DMsmsquare3
Printed on 210 computer card
Stash :  Ribbon & gold merri card
This unfortunately does not represent the beautiful soft tones of this digi-image I gave up trying with or without flash on the camera and decided to scan instead. When I purchased the set with horses and some Christmas theme ones,  I was very sloppy in storing them on the computer and lost them for a while, so the lesson is make a folder & back it up. One highlighted layer of the mouse & horse-shoe

Play time with graphics

Paint Shop Pro Graphic - Design by Katie
Handmade :  Mini paper
Inkjet printed
Submitted to My time to Craft #172 Adorable

Printed on Cryogen cardstock
(Hence the sparkle)
Both graphics taken from an online Paint Shop Pro community sharing, I'm not sure of the copyright, since I have recognised some very well known images on some sites.  But I don't propose to go into mass production or reproduce to sell, merely to play with.  A ''tube'' is a graphic that has a transparent (or been rendered to have) background.

This is the Paint shop Pro programme,  I've slipped in a background and the grey check, printed directly to the cardstock, so it's totally flat. Then what appears to be a sample of the check, is picked up by the ''pattern'' tool, then 'filled' into the background as an automatic repeat

EK Success Butterfly

Challenge

Magnolia Tilda : with a bundle
Promarkers & copic on Memento stamp ink pad
Sizzix Papers & Sizzix double heart
Stash : rafia ribbon, bling
As I've mentioned before I'm not that good at photographs, even though I've two digi cameras - may be I'll go back to scanning.  I've taken this to a graphics programme to crop & tart up, but it still doesn't really reflect the colours, although I have to say they are muted reds and blues.  Tilda is stamped on Cryogen cardstock and you can see the sparkle effect, but for the life of me, I've no idea why that's picked up on the red.
Second thing to flag up is I treated myself to a selection of Copic pens, on my last adventure to srstampalot, I purchased all though light muted tones and they work well with Promarkers, but a completely different experience, I'll write about that on a page.
